WATER FLUORIDATION

For over 74 years, the drinking water supplied to Baie-D’Urfé and several neighboring municipalities has been fluoridated through the Pointe-Claire and Dorval water treatment plants.

In the fall of 2024, the Agglomeration of Montreal took the unilateral decision to discontinue water fluoridation, affecting the demerged towns that are served by these facilities. As a result, the Town of Baie-D’Urfé has decided to share reliable information from accredited public health sources to ensure residents have access to accurate and comprehensive knowledge.

RECONSTRUCTION OF THE BIKE PATH

At the April 14, 2026 Council meeting, the Town Council awarded a contract to Lee Ling Paysagement for the reconstruction of the bike path connecting Clark-Graham Avenue to the EXO train station.

The project includes a complete reconstruction of the path, the installation of a new lighting network, and measures to preserve existing trees.

This work will improve travel conditions along this important route for both cyclists and pedestrians, while providing a safer and better-adapted environment for users.

Located near the industrial sector, this path also serves as an important route for workers and will help improve accessibility and connectivity within the area.

The work is expected to take place over a period of approximately six weeks between May and October 2026. Access to the train station will be maintained, although occasional traffic disruptions are expected.

RENOVATION OF BUS STOPS IN THE INDUSTRIAL SECTOR

At the April 14, 2026 Council meeting, two contracts were awarded as part of the bus stop development project in the industrial sector.

A first contract was awarded to 9378-6549 Québec Inc. (EDJ) for the construction work, which includes the installation of 17 new concrete slab bus stops.

A second contract was awarded to Laboratoire GS Inc. to ensure quality control of materials, soil traceability, and environmental monitoring during the work.

This project is part of the overhaul of the West Island public transit network in preparation for the opening of the Anse-à-l’Orme REM station. The new bus line 223, which will replace former bus line 219, will operate a loop route between this station and the industrial sector.

Work will begin on May 19, 2026 and is expected to take place over a period of approximately seven weeks. Work hours will be Monday to Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:15 p.m., and Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Occasional traffic disruptions are expected.

These improvements will enhance access to public transit, provide safer infrastructure for users, and better serve workers in the industrial sector.

ROAD RESURFACING (2026)

Morgan Street (between Victoria Street and the Highway 20 access ramp)

Baie-D’Urfé Town Council has awarded a contract to Groupe DGS Inc. to prepare the tender documents required for the upcoming resurfacing work on Morgan Street.

Preparing the technical documents is an essential step before the work can proceed.

We aim to have the work completed by the beginning of the school year.
