- Halocarbon Substances
Halocarbon Substances
Halocarbons, also known as refrigerants or gases, are chemical substances that contain carbon and a halogen (bromine, chlorine with or without fluorine). They include the following ozone-depleting substances (ODS): chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), organic materials.
Contact Public Works at 514 457-2877 for a free pick-up of your appliances containing halocarbons, such as refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, so that we can dispose of them in an ecologically and appropriate way.
This year, halocarbons will be collected alongside Hazardous Waste on May 11 and September 14, 2024.
