Urban Agglomeration of Montréal

The Agglomeration is a decision-making body created on January 1, 2006. It is composed of 31 elected representatives; 14 from the City of Montréal and 15 reconstituted cities.

These elected representatives form the Agglomeration Council. It has the power to adopt any By-law, to authorize any expenditure and to impose any tax on the entire territory of the Island of Montréal.
