Commemorative trees and benches

In order to provide a beautiful way to remember a loved one who has passed away while helping to improve our environment, the Town of Baie-D'Urfé offers its residents the opportunity to plant a tree or install a commemorative bench.

Procedure

If you are interested, you must submit a written request to the Mayor and Council.

  • You must make the request in memory of a resident or former resident of Baie-D'Urfé;
  • You may suggest the location of the bench or tree, as well as the type of tree desired;
  • You will also be asked to provide us with the content you would like to display on the plaque accompanying the tree or bench.

Cost

  • Tree and plaque: $1000
  • Bench and plaque: $1000

The cost includes the purchase of the tree or bench, the plaque and the cost of materials. The difference will be donated to the Commemorative Fund. Citizens making such a request will receive a tax receipt for the amount donated to the Town.

Upon receipt of your application, the administration will review and respond within 30 days. The Town reserves the right to suggest an alternate location or type of tree and to approve the content of the plaque. The Town will also be responsible for the planting of the tree, maintenance of the bench or tree and the plaque at the best of its capacities.
