Municipal Council
The Town Council is composed of a mayor and six councilors. Its role is to represent the population, to determine the Town’s priorities and to oversee special projects and daily activities. Councilors sit on different advisory committees along with citizens and staff members. The committees' mandate is to make recommendations to Council to streamline the decision-making process. The elected officials then make their decisions following these recommendations by means of resolutions or by-laws adopted at Council Meetings.
At the regular sitting held on March 8, 2022, the Town Council took note of the tabling by the Town Clerk of the certification to the effect that all members have participated in a professional development program on municipal ethics and good conduct.
This is a requirement in accordance with Bill 49, i.e. An Act to amend the Act respecting elections and referendums in municipalities, the Municipal Ethics and Good Conduct Act and various legislative provisions.
