Demolishing or moving a structure
Demolition of a building shall be subject to an exhaustive process that may take 2 to 3 months. In order for an application to be approved, it must be submitted to a series of committees.
PROCEDURE
- Approval of new construction plans by the Town Planning Department
- If the residence is in a PIIA (Site Planning and Architectural Integration Program) zone, the Planning Advisory Committee must approve the plans and the architectural integration of the new building into the adjacent built environment
- The application is then submitted to the Demolition Committee
- Once the Demolition Committee has made its decision, a 30-day appeal period must be respected
- Following the 30-day period, the Town issues the construction and demolition permits
Given the complexity of the process, please contact the Town Planning Director in order to obtain more details.
