Household Hazardous Waste

Following a decision by the Montreal agglomeration, the mobile HHW collection service is no longer offered.

What this means for you
Residents must now bring their household hazardous waste to one of the Montreal agglomeration ecocentres.

The most convenient locations for Baie-D’Urfé residents are:

  • LaSalle
  • Saint-Laurent

These facilities accept a wide range of materials, including paints, solvents, used oils, batteries, electronic products and other household hazardous materials.

Some services remain available in Baie-D’Urfé

On May 23, 2026, the Town will continue to offer at Public Works:

  • electronics collection
  • tire collection
  • document shredding services

Residents are encouraged to verify accepted materials before visiting to avoid unnecessary trips.

Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) is comprised of commonly used products or items that represent a hazard if placed in the garbage. Here are some examples:

When collected appropriately, HHW is sent to companies that specialize in their processing or recycling. For further information, consult the RECYC-QUÉBEC website.

The Montréal Agglomeration offers permanent collection of household hazardous waste (HHW) in all its ecocentres. You can bring your HHW in an individual container 19 litres (5 gallons) or smaller to any Ecocentre site.

Careful! Some products are not accepted! Check in the list what is accepted prior to going to an Ecocentre.
