Water meter reading

Returning Water Meter Cards
It is your responsibility

Baie-D’Urfé residents receive water meter cards once a year in the Fall. It is the responsibility of each resident to take a reading of their water meter and to return the pre-paid, pre-addressed card to Town Hall by mail early October.

You can also choose to complete the online form by clicking the button at the bottom of the page and by submit it to Town Hall. Should you have a more recent water meter installed with a cubic meter reading, you may still use the online form.

We wish to remind you that if your card is not completed and returned to the Town by the deadline, a reading will be taken by a Town representative and the owner will be billed an extra $50. Please inform the Town if you experience difficulty locating or reading your water meter. Spare cards are also available. For further information, please call 514 457-5324 or write to info@baie-durfe.qc.ca.

Once received, the data is entered and the water consumption is registered. If excess water charges apply, the amount will be indicated on a separate water meter invoice respecting the basic annual water consumption and municipal tarification by-law in effect.

The 2023 municipal tax bill includes the flat rate of $89 for an annual water consumption of 50 000 gallons or less. In the case of multi-tenant dwellings such as the condos on Jean-De la Londe, the flat rate is $71 for an annual water consumption of 40 000 gallons or less.

If a household exceeds its allotted water consumption limit, the owner will be charged $3.58 per 1000 gallons of excess water.
