Every week starting April 2, 2024

Your wheeled bin must be placed for pick-up at the curbside with wheels facing your residence before 7 a.m. on Tuesday. It is important to keep a clear space of at least 60 cm (2 feet) between the blue recycling bin and the brown organic bin when you place your 2 bins by the road.

*Winter Season: every two weeks

Green waste, leaves and grass clippings can be deposited in your wheeled bin with your kitchen waste or next to your bin in:

  • a paper bag
  • an empty garbage (maximum 25 kg - 55 pounds)
  • a cardboard box

Plastic bags even biodegradable or compostable are prohibited.

Practical tips to avoid odours in your brown bin during the summer season:

- Wrap your kitchen waste, such as meat or fish in a newspaper. To absorb, add a layer of green waste;
- Empty your bin every waste collections;
- Sprinkle baking soda or add a wood charcoal chip in each of your bin to reduce odours;
- Keep your small wastes container in the freezer. On collection day, add them to your brown bin;
- To avoid fruit flies around your small waste container, cut a wine cork in half lengthwise and put it on the cover;
- Keep your brown bin away from the sun;
- If odours persist, rinse your bin with a solution of vinegar and fresh water.
