The Town of Baie-D'Urfé is supporting the Ukrainian community. As a sign of solidarity, the Town raised the Ukrainian flag in front of the Fritz Community Centre and lit up its Town Hall in blue and yellow.

National Day of Remembrance for COVID-19 victims

Dear citizens,
On this National Day of Remembrance for COVID-19 victims, the Town of Baie-D'Urfé is lowering the flags at City Hall and at its Public Works office to half-mast.
The Town wishes to pay tribute to the victims of COVID-19 and their loved ones, as well as to all the healthcare and social services network workers.
The Town would like to acknowledge the unwavering strength of the population that has had to overcome challenges of all kinds over the past two years.
Resignation of Councilor Janet Ryan

Baie-D'Urfé Mayor Heidi Ektvedt regretfully received a letter of resignation from Councilor Janet Ryan, which was sent to council members today.
The Town will have to call a by-election in the coming months to fill the position.
Council will have to make a decision to assign the responsibilities that Councilor Ryan had to another member of the Council to ensure continuity of operations.
The Mayor would like to thank Councilor Ryan for her many years of service to the community.

City Hall and Public Works office reopen to the public

With the recent relaxation of the Quebec government, the City of Baie-D'Urfé announces that the City Hall and the Public Works office will be open to the public without appointment as of March 7, 2022, according to the following schedule: Monday to Thursday, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and from 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., as well as on Fridays, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Change in the location of the Town Council sittings

With the recent relaxation of the Quebec government, the Town of Baie-D'Urfé is pleased to announce that Council meetings will once again be held in person, at the Whiteside Taylor Auditorium, starting with the March 8 meeting. The following sanitary measures will be in effect during the meetings in the auditorium:
- Hand sanitization,
- Physical distancing of at least 1 meter,
- Wearing a mask.
Seating in the audience is limited and no reservations are required.

To continue to offer a service that is greatly appreciated by citizens, the Town has chosen to maintain the live webcast sessions. The sessions will also be available for future consultation.

Call for applications

The Town of Baie-D'Urfé is looking for citizen volunteers to sit on the following committees:
- Traffic (3 citizens),
- Environment (5 citizens),
- Parks and Recreation (5 citizens).
The purpose of these committees is to study and submit opinions and recommendations to Council based on the mandates entrusted to them by Town Council. Inspired by the Town's strategic vision, members of these committees will be called upon to actively participate in the various consultations seeking to establish action plans to implement this vision.

Closure of Ice Rinks

Due to the mild weather, ALL ice rinks will be closed.
Based on the current weather forecast we should be able to reopen all rinks on Friday, February 18, 2022.
