LUNCH AND LEARN
Plant-Based Eating
This eating trend emphasizes the consumption of plant foods like fruits, nuts, seeds, oils, whole grains and legumes while reducing animal products and not necessarily going full vegetarian or vegan. Plants are rich in vitamins and minerals and following a balanced plant-based diet can be beneficial for our health by helping to reduce the risk of chronic diseases and improving overall well-being.
Get started
- Add meatless days to your week and try a new vegetarian recipe at least once a week.
- Swap some of your favorite processed animal-food for a healthy alternative. For example, avocado instead of butter, black bean burger instead of beef.
- Add extra fruits and vegetables to food you already eat.
For seniors residents of Baie-D'Urfé, students in the McGill School of Human Nutrition will prepare a special delivered lunch, as part of their Foodservices Management course, following Covid-19 guidelines.
