The upcoming municipal elections are fast approaching! If you wish to actively contribute to the future of our community, now is the time to submit your nomination to run for municipal council. The 2025 municipal elections are an opportunity to share your ideas and your commitment to serving the Town of Baie-D’Urfé.
The Town reminds interested citizens that the official nomination period for the 2025 municipal elections will begin on September 19 and end on October 3, 2025, at 4:30 p.m.
Who can run for office?
- To be eligible, you must be a Canadian citizen, at least 18 years old, and domiciled in Baie-D’Urfé while having lived in Québec for at least six months, or be the owner of a building or the occupant of a business establishment located in the Town for at least 45 days. You must not have lost your electoral rights and must be registered on the electoral list.
What documents are required?
- A duly completed Nomination Paper (form SM-29).
- A guide for candidates in municipalities with fewer than 5,000 inhabitants (form DGE-1141), available online or at Town Hall (20410 Lakeshore Road, Baie-D’Urfé, H9X 1P7).
Filing a nomination
Every nomination paper must be filed at the Office of the Returning Officer on the following days and times:
From September 19, 2025, to October 3, 2025
- Monday: 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
- Tuesday: 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
- Wednesday: 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
- Thursday: 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.
- Friday: 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
NOTE: On Friday, October 3, 2025, the Office of the Returning Officer will be open continuously from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. It is strongly recommended to make an appointment before coming.
