Heat Wave: Access to the Public Pool and Prevention Tips

Due to the exceptional heat forecast this week, the Town of Baie-D'Urfé would like to remind residents to take the necessary precautions to protect themselves from the effects of extreme heat.
To provide residents with a place to cool off, the public pool, located at 20613 Lakeshore Road, will be open for recreational swimming:
- Wednesday, July 1 to Friday, July 3, from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
- Saturday, July 4, from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
- Sunday, July 5, from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Residents must present proof of address upon arrival to access the pool.
Prevention Tips
To reduce the risks during heatwave episodes and prevent heat stroke, keep these tips in mind:
- Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.
- Avoid intense physical activity during the hottest hours of the day.
- Wear lightweight, light-coloured clothing.
- Stay in the shade or in air-conditioned places as much as possible.
- Check regularly on your neighbours, friends, and family members, especially those who may be more vulnerable.
- Older adults, young children, and people living with chronic illnesses should take extra precautions.
