- Natural Areas Reforestation: Contract Awarded
Natural Areas Reforestation: Contract Awarded
Published on February 18, 2026
At the February 10, 2026, Municipal Council meeting, Council awarded the contract for the reforestation of natural areas to Services d’arbres Primeau Inc., following a public call for tenders.
The work will take place in spring 2026 and is expected to last approximately nine (9) weeks, weather permitting.
This project follows the interventions carried out in response to the damage caused by the emerald ash borer. A restoration plan was developed to help re-establish healthy and sustainable forest ecosystems in the affected areas.
A total of 4,660 plants will be planted across the ten targeted zones (4,000 trees and 660 shrubs), representing approximately two new plants for every tree that was removed. The project includes 19 native tree species, about one third of which are conifers, as well as 18 native shrub species.
