September 7 | Presentation: 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. | Garden visits: 2 to 4 p.m.
Whiteside Taylor Centre Auditorium | English
Join us for a family-friendly bird watching event. In the morning, we will have an illustrated talk and Q&A session titled “First Steps in Birding.” Topics include the importance of birds, what it means to be a birder, necessary equipment, bird identification basics, and where to go birding in the West Island. We will also cover how to attract birds to your garden, starting a life-list, and citizen science opportunities.
In the afternoon, attendees are invited to visit the garden to see native plantings and other implementations that attract birds and wildlife. Learn how to create a bird-friendly environment in your own backyard.
