IMPORTANT REMINDER: Septic System Maintenance

Septic tank pumping: EAST side this year.
Opting out of the municipal plan: If you choose to withdraw from the Town’s automatic septic tank emptying program, you must:
- Cover the cost of emptying your septic tank.
- Provide the Town with proof of emptying every two years to avoid a fine.
Advanced secondary and tertiary systems: If you have an advanced secondary system, a tertiary system (such as Hydro-Kinetic), or any other system requiring maintenance, you must:
- Renew your maintenance contract annually.
- Submit a copy of your maintenance contract to the Town. This is a legal requirement under Regulation Q2, r. 22.
Property owner responsibility: According to Regulation Q2, r. 22, article 3.2, every property owner is responsible for the maintenance of their septic system.
