Ecolawn Contest

Published on April 8, 2024

Over the past few years, the Town of Baie-D’Urfé has been committed to promoting greater biodiversity on its territory, and would like to encourage its residents to become involved. With this in mind, the Town is launching the Ecolawn contest, which focuses on transforming traditional lawns into diverse flora. You can see our biodiversity pilot project in the green corridor between the streets of Westchester and Cornwall.

For more details and for the rules on the Ecolawn contest, please contact the Environment Department by email at environnement@baie-durfe.qc.ca.

The contest closes on August 30, 2024, and the Town will award five (5) prizes.

We can all make a difference by changing our behaviour and making choices that protect biodiversity. Here are the long-term ecological benefits:

  • Improved biodiversity;
  • Reduced maintenance costs;
  • Saving drinking water;
  • Drought resistance.
