Social Media Netiquette

Through our presence on social media, we aim to inform our community and create a place that promotes goodwill to everyone who interacts on the page. The Town of Baie-D'Urfé has adopted a social media netiquette to ensure the proper functioning of its social networks.

Here are a few rules to keep in mind:

  • Please remain polite and respectful in your exchanges
  • Messages of an advertising nature are prohibited
  • No personal information can be shared through a public comment 
  • Zero tolerance for discriminatory, hateful, false, defamatory, or repetitive comments. The City reserves the right to remove such messages and block any user who engages in harassing behavior. 
  • General inquiries will be responded as soon as possible. However, personal requests will not be handled on social networks. We invite you to write to info@baie-durfe.qc.ca


Please note that our presence on social networks is entirely non-political, with content relating solely to the administration of the Town of Baie-D'Urfé. 

The hours of operation of the social media pages are during the Town's regular business hours, Monday to Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Any requests made after these hours will be processed on subsequent business days as quickly as possible.

Accordingly to the Town's bilingual status, content on social media is published in both official languages, English and French.
