Rail Safety Week 2026

Published on September 17, 2026

From September 21 to 27, 2026, the Town of Baie-D’Urfé is recognizing Rail Safety Week and reminding everyone of the importance of staying safe around railway tracks and crossings.

Caution is essential whenever you approach railway tracks. A moment of inattention or an unsafe decision can have serious consequences.

When approaching a railway crossing:

  • Stop a safe distance from the tracks.
  • Look both ways to make sure no trains are approaching.
  • Listen for approaching trains.
  • Always obey the signs and barriers in place.

Rail safety is a shared responsibility. Set a good example and encourage those around you to practise safe behaviour around trains and railway tracks.

If you witness an unsafe situation near a railway, contact CN Police at 1-800-465-9239.

Stop. Look. Listen.
