With the heatwave expected from today until Friday, June 21, the Town of Baie-D'Urfé is taking measures to ensure the safety and comfort of its residents.
Air-conditioned Buildings
The Library and Town Hall are air-conditioned and can serve as places to cool off during opening hours.
Library – 20551 Lakeshore Rd.
- Tuesday: 2:30 PM to 5:00 PM, 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM
- Wednesday: 2:30 PM to 9:00 PM
- Thursday: 2:30 PM to 5:00 PM
- Friday: 2:30 PM to 5:00 PM
Temporary Town Hall - 19700 Av. Clark-Graham
- Tuesday to Thursday: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
- Friday: 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM
Extended Public Pool Hours
To provide a place for you to cool off, the public pool, situated at 20613 Lakeshore Rd., will be open free of charge for all Baie-D'Urfé residents during the following hours:
- Tuesday: 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM
- Wednesday: 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM
- Thursday: 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM
- Friday: 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM
Prevention Tips
To reduce the risks during heatwave episodes and avoid heat stroke, keep these tips in mind:
- Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.
- Avoid intense physical activities during the hottest parts of the day.
- Wear light-colored and lightweight clothing.
- Stay in the shade or air-conditioned places as much as possible.
- Regularly check on neighbors, friends, and family members, especially if they are vulnerable.
Older adults, young children, and those with chronic illnesses should be especially cautious.
