Preservation of local biodiversity

We wish to inform you that, as part of our efforts to protect local biodiversity, a campaign to eliminate invasive vines and buckthorns is currently underway throughout the city. This targeted action aims to eradicate these species before their flowering to prevent the spread of their seeds.
Vines and buckthorns are known for their ability to grow rapidly and compete with native species, thus threatening the biological diversity of our natural spaces. Preventive intervention to remove these invasive plants is crucial in order to minimize their harmful impact on the surrounding ecosystem.
This initiative only concerns public areas, particularly green spaces such as municipal parks.
Additionally, we would like to inform you that Hydro-Québec is currently working alongside us to maintain its aerial electricity distribution network. If you have any questions regarding this matter, we encourage you to address them directly to Hydro-Québec.
