New online animal management platform

Published on March 30, 2023

Coming soon, we are very excited to announce a new online animal management platform. As a result, dog owners will soon be able to register their dog(s) online via a link on our website. It will no longer be necessary to come to Town Hall to register your dog.

You will be able to create your account, a profile of your dog(s), and make your payment, all online, on the animal management platform called Emili!

All dog owners must register their dog(s) via the new online platform.

If you register before December 31, 2023, the fee will be waived. Starting January 1, 2024, the cost for a dog license will be $ 30 and will be valid for two (2) years. The dog will wear the same identification tag for life.

With the most recent provincial law that came into force in 2021 regarding the Act to promote the protection of persons by establishing a framework with regard to dogs, municipalities have the responsibility to ensure a safe environment for dogs and persons alike. They must have an up-to-date list of all dogs within its territory. In order to have a current listing of dogs, other neighbouring municipalities have annual license renewals, whereas we have elected to have our renewals every two (2) years as we are a smaller town and are limited in resources.

Don't delay ! If you register your dog before the end of the year, not only will we waive your fee, but you'll also be entered to win a prize for your dog!

Residents that don't have access to a computer will be able to go to Town Hall to register their dog(s).

More details will be published on our website, Facebook and via Mailchimp shortly.
