Excellence Support Program

Did you know that Baie-D’Urfé offers a financial sup­port program for our youth and full­-time students en­gaged in sporting and cultural competitions?

The “Excellence Support Program” was established sever­al years ago and Baie-D’Urfé youth have benefitted by the funding it provides to help them travel and partici­pate in provincial and national events.

During the summer, the council updated the program to adjust the funding available and emphasize that the program is intended for a wide variety of activities our young people are involved in: competitions may include sporting tournaments, music competitions, and cultural, scientific and academic disciplines.

The Town’s financial contribution has been increased to $200 per competition, per applicant, and a maximum of $800 per year, per applicant.

Baie-D’Urfé’s youth and full-time students are eligible to receive financial support within the context of the program and that they meet all the requirements stipulated in this policy. You can view the policy in the Community Life / Youth section of the town’s website.

It is always an enjoyable part of our monthly council meetings to present the activities our local youth are in­volved in and provide this program to help them achieve their goals.
