Earth Day

To celebrate Earth Day, the Town of Baie-D’Urfé is organizing a variety of free activities for all ages. Earth Day is an opportunity to get together and take concrete action to reduce our impact on the environment. Together, let's take another step towards responsible consumption and sustainable living.

Date of the event: April 20, 2024
Time: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Location: Whiteside Taylor Centre Auditorium

PROGRAM

  • Buy Nothing Project
    An activity to exchange various items and clothing. It’s based on the principle of a yard sale, with no money exchanged. Registration is mandatory, as you must reserve a table to display your items (10 tables available). Please note that you are responsible for any items not exchanged and for disposing of them in the appropriate places. To register, please visit the Facebook group “Buy Nothing Baie-D’Urfé”.
     
  • Community Repair Workshop
    Join us to learn how to repair your items. Come along and find out how to extend the life of your favorite items and reduce your ecological footprint.

    Registration is open from April 8 to 12, with priority given to residents. Reserve your spot by email at loisirs@baie-durfe.qc.ca or by phone at 438 230-3781.
     
  • Distribution of free seeds for the Ecolawn contest
    We're delighted to announce that at this event, we'll be handing out seeds to help those who want to switch to a mow-free lawn!

Here are the 4 kinds: 

  1. White clover
  2. Aridex Extra
  3. Herbionik Ecological
  4. Herbionik Flowery Meadow

This initiative aims to promote biodiversity and support our local environment.
