  • When to call a professional.

When: March 14, 2024
Where: Whiteside Taylor Centre Auditorium
Time: 7 to 9 p.m.

Jesse Bouchard-Nestor’s professional journey as an arborist began with studies at Macdonald Campus of McGill University in horticulture, working at the Morgan Arboretum and as a research assistant in the Department of Soil Science. This background influenced his holistic approach to tree care.

Jesse became the first certified arborist in Québec. Curiosity about different methods and a desire to share knowledge led Jesse to teaching and the opening of a school in Gatineau. He ran this for two years. He also taught the ministère de l’Éducation du Québec arboriculture-tree climber program for nine years and then worked as a consultant to translate the program into English. Jesse is an author of and contributor to training manuals with Copalme Association and Copalme Canada.

As a multiple Québec Tree Climbing champion, Jesse has represented Québec and Canada in numerous competitions on the international stage in France, Germany and the Unites States.

Jesse currently gives training workshops in several countries, runs Arborfolia (a small family business focused on the preservation of mature trees), as well as a private training firm, Educ Arbor.
