Campaign Launch: “Do as I Do”
Published on August 28, 2025
With the start of the school year, the Town of Baie-D’Urfé is launching its new road safety campaign, "Do as I do", reminding everyone that safety on our streets begins with a simple action: slowing down.
This week, Mayor Heidi Ektvedt, commandant Marc-Antoine Goyette and Stéphanie Morin from SPVM PDQ 1, along with Gillian Bennett, Director of the Volunteer Citizens on Patrol (vCOPs), as well as Councillors Tony Brown and Tom Thompson, representatives of the Traffic and Road Safety Advisory Committee, stood in front of one of the colourful panels at the CPE Whiteside Taylor. Their presence reflects our shared commitment to safer streets for children, pedestrians, cyclists, and all residents.
The message was carried through door-to-door cards, signs across town, and online promotion, ensuring it reaches every corner of our community. Featuring the turtle, snail, and sloth, the campaign reminds us that taking our time behind the wheel is the best way to protect what is most precious — everyone’s safety.
This year’s campaign is made possible thanks to the full financial support of the Société de l’assurance automobile du Québec (SAAQ).
