  • 9:00 - 11:30 a.m. - Ages 6-11 Creating Cartoon Characters!
  • 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. - ages 12+. Just like an impressionist: using soft pastel to create amazing still life and animal portraits.

DESCRIPTIONS :

Creating Cartoon Characters! 

Come join us on an introductory exploration into the world of creating cartoon characters! Participants will explore bringing their stories to life with hand-drawn cartoons and a cast of favourite characters. This class will be jam packed, showing children the basics of cartooning from using forms and shapes to designing backgrounds and characters. Finally, we will explore how facial expressions help tell big stories in cartoons. (6-11yrs)

Just Like an Impressionist: Using Soft Pastel to Create Amazing Still Life and Animal Portraits

Come experience the incredible and luminous colours of chalk pastel drawing! Working with pencil, conté, and pastel, participants will learn the fundamentals of blocking in a drawing, using negative space, perspective, colour, and shading. Subject matter will include still life and animal portraits. This class will be fun and rigorous, great for improving ability at all skill levels! (12yrs+)
